1. A king's gate, the best way to enter as the palace lies beside Chao Praya River. / Królewska brama, najlepszy sposób na wpłynięcie na teren pałacu, gdyz leży on nad rzeką Chao Praya. 

Thai Royal Summer Palace is located about an hour drive north from Bangkok. These days King Rama IX and his family rarely visit the palace, only for banquets and other special occasions.

Thai merchants eagerly grab passing by canoes with  tourists on them trying to sell their goods. / Tajscy handlarze skwapliwie chwytają przepływające łódeczki z turystami próbując wcisnąć im co się da.

Damnoen Saduak market is one of the most famous floating markets in Thailand. Colourful and vibrant. No wonder it has been photographed hundreads of times.

66. Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai & Golden Triangle, Thailand / Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai & Złoty Trójkąt, Tajlandia

Golden Triangle is a place where illegal growth and  trade of opium was taking place in the past. It's the place where Thailand, Myanmar and Laos meet. / Złoty Trójkąt to miejsce, gdzie w przeszłości uprawiano i sprzedawano nielegalny opium. Jest to miejsce, gdzie spotykają się państwa Tajlandii, Myanmar (Birmy) oraz Laosu.

Northern Thailand is so much different from the south islands in many aspects. First of all, climate is slightly different. You are surrounded by hills and mountains therefore the whole area is more prone to rain. The air is less humid.

65. Elephant Nature Park, Chiang Mai, Thailand / Elephant Nature Park, Chiang Mai, Tajlandia

Lek Chailert is the lady initiated setting up the sanctuary for rescued animals and is responsible for teaching mahouts (elephant trainers) how to care for them without the use of hook and fear. /  Lek Chailert to kobieta, która wyszła z ideą otwarcia sanktuarium dla zwierząt i jest uczy poganiaczy słoni, jak się słońmi opiekować bez użycia haka i bez zastraszania.

Elephant Nature Park outside Chiang Mai (northern Thailand) is the first sanctuary ever opened of its kind in Thailand. It has been opened few years ago and is a home and rehabilitation centre for elephants. At the time of our visit there were 45 elephants living here.

63. Koh Samui (back to Thailand), Thailand / Koh Samui (ponownie w Tajlandii), Tajlandia

Koh Samui is the last island that we had planned to visit on this trip. We spent our time dividing it between  sightseeing and swimming (water, as everywhere in Thailand, was georgeous).

Phuket is one of the major islands of Andaman Sea that serves as a bridge between the mainland and smaller islands. The city has got a lot to offer: white sand beaches with warm water, exciting and vibrant nightlife and Big Buddha to name the few.

11. Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand - mainland / Ao Nang, prowincja Krabi, Thajlandia - stały ląd

We spent 4 nights in Ao Nang, Krabi. It's yet another seaside town with beautiful beaches.
Everything here is quite commercialised.  Even the boats of long tail boat taxi drivers carry airline logos  on them....But you cannot deny the beauty of those beaches surrounded by rocks. Very dramatic.
Here in Ao Nang, Krabi rock climbing seems to be more popular than diving...

9. Koh Lanta, Thailand

Koh Lanta is bigger than Phi Phi therefore we have rented out a motorbike (125cc) for sightseeing purposes. It only cost 300 Baht/per day. It's a way forward not only for the locals.  Unaware of the chaotic road conditions,  tourists are more likely to cause accidents.

7. Food, drink & enntertainment in Phi Phi / Jedzenie, picie i rozrywka na Phi Phi

There are countless restaurants and street food vendors on the island. Vast majority of restaurants are run by Thais, but you can find few that are run by Swedish or English. You can imigine that  finding a western fare isn't that diffcult. The quality though is arguable. We  recommend Pum restaurant  (the owner is Thai woman) if you fancy taking up Thai cooking lessons. We really had a good fun.

But if you just want to  fill up your stomach then we recommened a visit to Anna's. Magda enjoyed the Thai food and I had a varied choice for myself. The resturant is run by Richard (who lived and grew up in Pinner). His restaurant is always full of different nationalities....well worth a visit if your in town !

5. Phi Phi transport & delivery service/ Transport oraz usługi dostawcze na Phi Phi

 As we have mentioned before, there's no roads and cars in Phi Phi. The island is simply too small for it. But there's a high demand for all sorts of materials, from basics like  food and water to start with, to building materials. Everything is  delivered by trolleys. Even the luggage.


During our stay over here, we couln't help but notice that Thai men are very strong and Thai people in general,  very resourceful and won't waste a thing (recycling is widely practiced).

4. Koh Phi Phi Don, Thailand

Koh Phi Phi Don is a small island with beautiful beaches that's very popular with party - goers. Majority of the tourists  are very young people who make the place very vibrant.
 The island  is inhabited by 3000 local  people, on  average 1000 tourists come and go every day. For a small island it can get busy, esecially at weekends.

When arriving in Phi Phi, there's a 20 Baht tax to pay - that's for maintenance and rubbish removal.
There's no cars in here, only small streets with no name. Your point of  reference on the  map are the hotels, restaurants, massage places, dive centres etc

 Koh Phi Phi Don, to mała wyspa posiadająca piękne plaże, która jest bardzo popularna pośród imprezowiczów. Większość turystów zatem to młodzi ludzie, którzy ' wysypują' się wieczorami na uliczki i plaże.
 Wyspę zamieszkuje 3 tyś miejscowych. Średnia liczba turystów przybywających i  opuszczających wyspę w ciągu dnia to 1000 osòb (długość wyspy to 6,5 km a  szerokość 3,5 km). Phi Phi bywa zatem bardzo ruchliwa, zwłaszcza w weekendy.

Po zejściu z pokładu statku, trzeba zapłacić podatek w wysokości 20 Baht - to na wywóz nieczystości.
 Nie ma tutaj dużych  ulic ani samochodów, tylko małe uliczki/chodniki bez nazw. Do orientacji w terenie na mapie służą sklepy, hotele, restauracje, saloniki masażu, centra nurkowania itd.
