The construction of Forbidden City was ordered by the same emperor who brought Temple of Heaven to life. It's an 180 acres (72 ha) complex that was a home to emperors. It also housed their households (including wife and mistresses) and served as the ceremonial and political centre of Chinese government for 500 years.
